Naomi Howard
Counsellor and Mental Health Educator

My name is Naomi Howard and as the founder of NFH Counselling & Consultancy, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective support to individuals navigating the complexities of mental health and professionals looking to expand their knowledge around suicide prevention and safeguarding.

With a background in counselling, safeguarding and mental health education in the charity and social care sectors, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice, empowering clients to overcome challenges, achieve holistic well-being and gain confidence in their ability.

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported throughout their healing journey. Drawing upon my extensive training and experience, I tailor sessions to each individual's unique needs and goals, integrating various therapeutic modalities to facilitate meaningful change and transformation.

I combine humanistic, psychodynamic, trauma-informed and relational interventions in my sessions. I focus on inner-child, shadow and parts of self-work using talking therapy, psychoeducation and creative exercises. My specialisms are child abuse, sexual trauma, domestic abuse, and suicide prevention and I am passionate about supporting survivors and empowering them to reclaim their strength and resilience.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I offer a variety of different trainings aimed at counsellors and mental health professionals that provide time to not only build skills in safeguarding and risk assessment but also the confidence to sit with and hold space for clients experiencing suicidal ideation and demonstrating self-harming behaviour.

Outside of work, you can usually find me reading, listening to music (anything from Taylor Swift to Bruce Springsteen), travelling (Barcelona is a favourite) and walking my Border Terrier Stan.
